PERU LNG operates the first liquefied natural gas processing plant in South America, a landmark facility that has positioned Peru as a leader in the regional LNG industry. Our project consists of three main components: a 408-kilometer pipeline that transports natural gas from the Ayacucho region to the coast, a state-of-the-art liquefaction plant at Pampa Melchorita, and a marine terminal for shipping LNG to global markets. The plant was inaugurated in June 2010 after four years of construction and represents an investment of $3.8 billion, making it the largest private investment in Peru's hydrocarbon sector.
We are committed to operating with the highest standards of environmental responsibility, safety, and social performance. Our majority shareholder and operator is Hunt Oil Company, with partners including SK Innovation, Shell, and Marubeni. Beyond our core operations, we actively engage with local communities through social responsibility programs and maintain rigorous environmental management systems certified under ISO 14001. Our facility has a nominal capacity of 4.4 million tons of LNG per year, contributing significantly to Peru's energy development and economic growth.
