About the Role

As a Senior SAP Developer at Corporate Zekelman Industries, you will play a key role in delivering large-scale, complex technology solutions that support business operations and drive enterprise performance. This position is responsible for architecting, developing, and maintaining SAP functionality within a highly integrated environment that supports manufacturing, customer-facing platforms, and internal systems.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions that align business processes with technology, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability. This is a full-time, onsite role located in Chicago, IL.

What You’ll Do

  • Architect, develop, document, test, and deploy new SAP functionality using standard development tools.

  • Enhance existing SAP functionality through design, development, testing, and deployment activities.

  • Maintain a high level of technical expertise in SAP development tools and best practices.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver solutions that improve business performance and competitiveness.

  • Support integration across SAP instances and connected systems including manufacturing platforms, web applications, and WMS.

  • Utilize REST and SOAP web services to support system integrations and data exchange.

  • Apply performance tuning, monitoring, and optimization techniques to ensure system efficiency.

  • Participate in project planning and execution, including coordination of development activities and deliverables.

  • Support multiple SAP functional areas including Materials Management, Sales and Distribution, Financials, Logistics, Quality Management, Plant Maintenance, and Advanced Planning and Optimization.

  • Document technical designs, processes, and system configurations.

  • Lead and promote healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy.

  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

Who You Are

  • 12+ years of SAP development experience with strong expertise in ABAP and related technologies.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience. MBA preferred.

  • Advanced knowledge of ABAP Objects, OData, Clean ABAP programming, ADT Eclipse/ABAP Workbench, enhancements, IDocs, Adobe Lifecycle Designer, APO development, HANA CDS Views, and SAPscript/Smartforms.

  • Extensive experience with REST and SOAP web services.

  • Experience with SAP modules including Materials Management, Sales and Distribution, Financials, Logistics, Quality Management, Plant Maintenance, and Advanced Planning and Optimization.

  • Experience with performance tuning, monitoring, and system optimization tools.

  • Project management experience with the ability to manage multiple initiatives.

  • SAP certifications in one or more technical disciplines preferred.

  • Knowledge of SAP BTP / Integration Suite and Android APK development preferred.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Highly self-motivated with a strong customer-service orientation.

  • Ability to maintain regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.

  • Ability to move within an office environment and access standard office equipment.

  • Ability to operate a computer and related office equipment for the majority of the workday.

  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.

Compensation & Benefits

Below is the expected base salary range for this position. This is a good-faith estimate, and offers will be determined based on experience, education, skill set, and interview performance.

Base Salary Range: $84,460.00 - $148,320.00 USD
